When I brought the sodastream package into my house I'm not sure who was more excited as we were all eager to try it out. We all love soda, however I had over the last several months curbed our consumption for a few reasons. 1) to cut down on high fructose corn syrup items 2) cut down on the amount of cans and bottles we were buying 3) cutting out more sugar in my own diet. This was no easy task let me tell you because I love my fizzy drinks. I tried having club soda with lemon or lime but that wasn't satisfying my tastes. I found a fruit green tea fizzy drink that I liked but it was like $2/can or on sale $1/can nope that wasn't happening I couldn't justify that expense. Imagine my delight when I opened the sodastream box to find all of these wonderful flavors that they sent us which included a peach and pomegranate green tea flavor. Oh yes! There were some fantastic flavors to choose from we had a hard time which one to start with but we still had to assemble the sodastream. Oh wait minute there was no assembling needed! The unit arrived ready to go for us we just had to wash out the bottles, choose our flavor and give it a whirl.

It was so easy we couldn't believe it! The only glitches we had were when my husband tried to do the carbonating I was out of the room. He said the instructions stated that there will be a buzzing sound when you push down on the button to carbonate the water. He thought the "sound" of the bubbles when he pushed down on the button was the "buzz". Nope it wasn't I went and pushed down and held it a bit longer & then came the loud buzz. Once you hear it there's no mistaking it. If we had watched the video above first we would have known this but really not a big deal we figured it out and it wasn't all that hard.

My daughter was so excited about trying the sodastream she couldn't decide on what flavor to try first. We did the sparkling ginger ale it was awesome. I couldn't tell the difference between the sodastream brand and regular ginger ale and believe me if anyone can taste a difference it's me and my sensitive palate. I also loved the peach pomegranate green tea & orange mango these 2 are my favorites!

Regular flavors of SodaStream sodamix use a blend of sugar and Splenda®* brand sweetener and contain no high-fructose corn syrup. SodaStream diet flavors are sweetened with Splenda® brand sweetener and contain no aspartame or saccharine. Comparisons are based 8 fl. oz. serving size (0.34 fl. oz. of SodaStream sodamix per 8 fl. oz. of water).

The Sparkling Ginger-ale which is sweetened with cane sugar. I love this because when I do use sugar I use cane sugar, it's not processed and you don't need as much to sweeten things. Sodastream has several sparkling flavors and for those who want fizzy water they have flavorings for your water too. Now was there anything I didn't like I would have to say the Cola Free which is essentially Coke Zero. I"m not a fan of any diet pops so that's not a surprise at all. If you like diet pop then you need not worry the sodastream version tastes exactly the same.

My one recommendation is to have more than one bottle. We loved the sodastream so much we kept drinking and trying out different flavors so we'd go through 1 bottle very quickly. With so many choices of flavors with low sugar and carbs it was okay that we drank a few more than usual and now I don't have to ban soda from our house any more. We can drink the sodastream sodas and not have to worry about high fructose corn syrup and high levels of sugar. Overall the sodastream gets a top notch rating from Powered by Mom. My entire family & my daughter's friends who've come over love it. They beg us to make them a flavor of their choice. Now for the fun stuff enter for a chance to win a sodastream of your own!
